Not many people can claim they go to the same lengths as Sophia Bush does to keep the Earth green. The One Tree Hill admits she is crazy about recycling.

“I’m kind of crazy about it and have been for a really long time,” she told On The Red Carpet’s Chi-Lan Lieu at the recent “Darker side of Green” debate series event in Los Angeles. “I will go through the airport on two flights to get from L.A. to Wilmington or back, and carry all of my recyclables with me if they’re not recycling on the plane.”

She says, “I think the biggest step towards helping and ‘greening’ your life is to be aware.”

Bush also said she’s glad the green movement has become somewhat chic in Hollywood.

“It’s great that people are realizing that it’s not just a hippie thing to do, it’s something we all need to do,” she said.

The One Tree Hill star gave us more dish on her personal taste during the Sigerson Morrison & Rachel Pally fall preview that she hosted in Los Angeles.

WHAT SHE’S STYLIN’: I’m wearing Rachel Pally. She epitomizes chic California girl, but there’s always this element of New York. You can envision a lot of her clothes in the Hamptons on a summer day, and I really respect her for being able to do both. Plus, it’s comfy.

FASHION PHILOSOPHY: I’m a big fan of pieces that aren’t totally basic. I like blazers that can go from day to night—designs that are versatile. I’m also all about being understated. I prefer to highlight my bare back rather than my cleavage or some leg instead of all of it.

SEXY DEFINED: The sexiest thing about any man or woman is something inspiring or stimulating. Someone with an education who can hold a conversation is sexy.

TRADING PLACES: I would love to live in Marc Jacobs’ brain for a day. The documentary of him designing his line and Louis Vuitton’s blew my mind. I would kill to live in Karl Lagerfeld and Phoebe Philo’s minds, too. I look at Phoebe’s outfits and go, “Why didn’t I think of that?” I’m in awe of her. All I have to say for Karl is: Chanel.

SOPHIA BUSH has revealed she and her ONE TREE HILL co-star AUSTIN NICHOLS have been dating for the last four years.

The actress was rumoured to have started a relationship with Nichols last year (09) after they were spotted being intimate at the Hollywood Style Awards in October (09).

But now Bush has opened up about the romance, admitting she and her beau actually started dating in 2006 – two years before Nichols even started working on the U.S. TV drama.

And the star is smitten with the actor, who took a job on One Tree Hill in 2008 and moved to be closer to her.

She says, “We’ve been dating off and on for the past four years. I was pretty terrified. We had so many years of history prior to him coming to work on the show, and I think someone taking a job and moving their life across the country to show you how much they care is pretty much the most romantic gesture that a person could make.”

Bush was briefly married to former One Tree Hill star Chad Michael Murray in 2005.

JustJared.com recently caught up with Sophia about her new projects and whether she’ll get to do some action work. “It wouldn’t be any action for me, no, but a good cast of characters, and that’s the sort of thing I’m looking for,” she said.

“But of course, when you walk outside of the world, it’s a drama or you’re maybe walking away from comedy, which I love because I’m a goofball,” Sophia continued. “Action, I think, is a great test for actors in general, and I think it’s really enjoyable for us because it lets us push ourselves to a whole new level.”

Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series books (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn) aren’t her only best-sellers – as you well know. Her book, The Host, also claimed top marks on the charts (and for good reason).

The Host follows the ninth life of “Wanderer,” a “soul,” who makes her way to Earth for the first time as a human being. Her host body, though, becomes a strange thing for Wanderer because the human soul of Melanie, the body, refuses to disappear and make way for her own cognitive control.

Wanderer and Melanie form an indescribable (though thoroughly described by Stephenie Meyer, of course) bond through this experience, and Wanderer seeks out those who Melanie (and vicariously Wanderer) loves. Her experience amongst those individuals – particularly the characters Jared, Jamie, Ian, and Jeb – is the crux of the story, and Wanderer’s challenge is to keep Melanie “alive” during her incorporation into the group.
